ABOUT JOHN BEEMAN
Jewelry is adornment that represents culture, emotion, memory, joy and enrichment. Beautiful jewelry enriches the wearer and the observer and deepens our appreciation for ourselves and each other.
My Jewelry Philosophy
As a result of a lifetime of wearing and loving jewelry ornamentation and having had the opportunity to travel throughout the world observing other cultures, I believe that jewelry can have a multi-dimensional purpose in each of our lives. Whether symbolic of culture, relationships, affection or appreciation of beauty, jewelry affords each of us the chance to decorate our bodies and our spirits in a beautiful way. Whether a piece of jewelry is given as a gift, exchanged for other goods or services or admired by a passing observer, it can brighten a moment or a lifetime. Jewelry can enhance our lives, not through possessive ownership, but though joyful wearing and admiring and provide something special, better and enriching for each of us. As you explore my website, I hope that you enjoy what you see and feel inspiration to incorporate jewelry adornment in your own life.
Be creative! If it's yours, make it your own by the way you position and wear each piece. There are no rules except those that guide your personal style, so let inspiration be your guide.
Wearing My Jewelry
These designs are necklaces, some with earrings and/or bracelets, and can often be worn in more than one way. Multi-strand necklaces are, for the most part, composed of strands of equal length so that they can be worn loose, twisted loosely or tightly, woven through each other or gathered with an attached pendant at the center. I prefer a sloppy, loose look for more casual wear and a twisted, more controlled look for formal wear. In many cases, pendants are present and dominate the necklace. When pendants occur, they should exist for a design purpose and create additional drama and interest. Long necklaces can be worn singly or doubled and, in some cases, extenders can be made so that a short necklace can have an extension attached to create a longer necklace for under-collar wear. The important things is that these necklaces require adjustment, whether to place them on the neck right side up (so that they raise up and lie flat), layer strands over each other in creative, pleasing ways, or turn or twist them to suit your style preferences. There are no rules except the rules of the wearer.
I use the best materials I can find and I search the world to get them. My materials are natural and handmade, one-of-a-kind. Be assured that you won't see anyone else wearing your jewelry!
One of A Kind
When I buy raw materials for the jewelry I make, every effort is made to locate the finest quality material possible that may also be unusual or interesting. The best materials make the best jewelry and, to that end, I have developed strong relationships with exceptional suppliers so that each piece incorporates quality, beauty and design. I don't make more than one design of a kind, so my clients can be assured of original pieces of the highest quality I can create. Because I seek the finest materials, the retails prices of these pieces can be high. My markup is based on the cost of the materials and a standard additional amount for design and construction. The prices aren't arbitrary, but based on market value for materials used. I buy directly from trusted sources ac ross the globe with whom I have personal relationship with and can trust. I make every effort to pass value on to my clients.
